      <title>9/20/08 - SGT Luis Rosa-Valentin Charity Kendo Tournament</title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>On Saturday, September 20, 2008, area Kendo clubs and friends of SGT Rosa are hosting the <b>SGT Luis Rosa-Valentin Charity Kendo Tournament in support of the Wounded Warrior Project</b>.</p>

<h4>Registration:</h4>

<p>The tournament is open to all military and non-military participants. Registration for this event must be submitted by <u>September 15, 2008</u>. Registration may be completed through the mail or online. <h4>Tournament details:</h4>

<p>Doors are expected to open for the event at 8:00 a.m. and the tournament will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The tournament will only consist individuals competition. All participants will receive a free lunch. </p>

<h4>Fees:</h4>

<p>In lieu of a participation fee, participants and the audience are invited to provide a monetary donation the day of the event. 100% of the proceeds from this tournament will go directly to the Wounded Warrior Project.       <title>9/22/07 - 2007 Cornell Kendo Tournament</title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>The Cornell Kendo Club is hosting their Fall <u>2007 Cornell Kendo Tournament</u> on September 22nd and 23rd. All those who wish to participate are also invited to attend the optional pre-tournament jigeiko from 7 - 9:00 PM on Friday, September 21st. Huehner sensei will be serving as head judge for the tournament. If any members of the participating dojos are qualified (3rd dan and above) and willing to serve as judges, it would be greatly appreciated.</p>

<p><b>Participating Dojos should submit the following information to jht33@cornell.edu:</b></p>

<ol>
<li>Number of participants and teams</li>

<li>Do you require housing? If so, for how many people?</li>

<li>Are any members of your club available to serve as judges?</li>
</ol>

<p>Details for the tournament are as follows:</p>

<h3>9/22/07 - Team Tournament</h3>

<p>The team tournament will be held on Saturday and will allow for both full 5 member teams and mixed teams. Teams with less than 5 members (<u>Mixed teams</u>) will be supplemented with kendoka from other dojos. Dojos are allowed to bring multiple teams. All participants are asked to bring a valid University I.D. for entry into the tournament.</p>

<h3>9/23/07 - Individuals Tournament</h3>

<p>Individual matches are open to all College Age participants. Graduate students are welcome to compete in individuals matches. All participants are asked to bring a valid University I.D. for entry into the tournament.</p>

<h3>Fees</h3>

<p>In addition to bringing a valid University I.D., the entry fee for participants interested in competing in either the Team Tournament or the Individuals Tournament is $20. For participants interested in competing in <b>both</b> Team and Individuals Tournaments, the entry fee is $25.</p>

      <title>3/31/07-4th Annual Yale Tournament</title>

Yale's Fourth Annual Koushinkan Kendo Tournament will be held on the weekend of March 31, 2007 and April 1, 2007 at the Lanman Center at the Payne-Whitney Gym of Yale University. The two day tournament will consist of team matches on Saturday 3/31/07 and individual matches on Sunday 4/1/07. All undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to attend. The team matches will consist of 5 person teams with team members ranking up to 3 Dan. Participation in the tournament will cost $30 per person for both days, or $20 if only competing on one day.       <title>2/25/07-Shidogakuin Youth and Collegiate Tournament</title>

The Shidogakuin Youth and Collegiate Tournament will be held on February 25, 2007 at the Loree Building at Douglass Campus of Rutgers University, and will consist of promotion testing followed by individual matches and team matches. 

The promotion testing will start at 8:30am for kenshi testing for all ranks up to 3 dan. Testing fee is $15, not including the additional menjo fee. Separate checks for the testing fee and menjo fee should be make payable to GNEUSKF. Non-GNEUSKF kenshi must submit written permission from his/her regional federation president.

The individual matches will begin after the promotion testing at approximately 10:00 am and are divided into the following divisions: A. Up to 9 yrs. old, B. 10-12 yrs. old, C. 13-15 yrs. old, D. 16-18 yrs. old, E. 19 yrs. and up (mudansha), F. 19 yrs. and up (yudansha), G. Women 13 yrs. and up. The team matches will consist of 3 member teams (high school and undergraduate students only). Doors open at 8:00am. Entry fee is $20.00. For further information please contact: Kendoka@att.net.
